This will probably sound weird to you...
but when I was a child I was always envious of the alter boys because they were responsible for handling all of the priest's beautiful vestments. I wanted to touch then in the worst way. (Honestly, I want to play dress up with them but don't tell anyone. I'm sure it's a mortal sin!)
So I was very intrigued to learn about the history of kimonos. Did you know that Chiso Kimono company has been in business for 466 years? That a Kimono takes 3 months to make?
