A Fruitful Forgotten Memory.

A Fruitful Forgotten Memory.

A Fruitful Forgotten Memory.

Just where will 2017 take us????

I hope you all had a fabulous Holiday. I was blessed to share it with my family in Ohio. This is the first time in 30 years that I have been home for Christmas. Naturally there was much reminiscing and one of my nephews reminded me of a trip to Crystal Cave on Put-In-Bay, Ohio. Those of you that have been following me for awhile know that I am a big believer in serendipity and the things it inspires. So let's go...

Years ago I visited the crystal cave at Put-In-Bay. The difference between Ohio’s crystal cave and other more standard caves may not be at first apparent.
The key difference is that you are not in fact inside a cave so much as wandering within a single rock. Crystal Cave is the world’s largest geode. Wait for it... Did you say GEODE? Just before leaving for Ohio I received  some beautiful sunrise geodes. What should I do with them? But first a bit about this spectacular Cave.
Discovered in 1887 by workers digging a well for winery operator Gustav Heineman, he found that the cave was in actuality a “vug” or large cavity within a single rock. Beautiful three foot long Celestine crystals emerge from the walls. Here are a few pictures.

Here are the geode beauties I have just received.  Aren't they beautiful?

Next week I'll show you what I have designed using them as my inspiration. Maybe this will be the first new journey for 2017. Looking forward to traveling and growing with you!
Let's chat soon,
Carol
