An Interesting Coincident!

An Interesting Coincident!

My Mom insisted she could not sing...

Yet when most people would hum, she would be yodeling. The yodel would always start the same. I Dee A Dee (Yodeling). I thought it was beautiful and I would asks her why she thought she couldn't sing? She said yodeling was not singing it was for calling the cows home. What? See Mom was the youngest girl of 10 and her job on the farm was at the end of the day she was to yodel to call the cows home. I never thought much about it and it never dawned on me to ask any of my schoolmates that grew up on farms if they had to yodel the cows.

It's funny the things you just take for granted. Here it is decades and decades later and I find out that there is a Swedish word for it - kulning. I'm not saying Mom sounded like this but click the picture to hear this beautiful sound.

Wasn't that beautiful?

Last weekends show when great and now it's time to get ready for the Mother of all shows - Hidden in the Hills. The last two weekends in November. I hope that you local folks will come out and visit me. I will be at Studio 16, Cuvee Art 31550 N. 70th Street in N. Scottsdale.
