From Giving Birth to Glass Blowing. Come take the Ride with Me!

I wanted to be a glass blower as a child but....
We need to start at the beginning. I was very sickly as a child. My lungs collapsed at birth and I was in and out of the hospital with lung ailments for the next 3 to 4 years. Why my parents had 3 more children is beyond me but let's stay on point. My Uncle Hap was a wizard with making animals out of balloons and someone told him that blowing balloons would strengthen my lungs. So for hours we would sit on the porch and I would blow up those long snake balloons and he would make fabulous animals. All the neighbor kids would come over for their weekly supply of zoo balloons.
(In case you have grand kids around I included a video)
My Uncle Hap moved to Detroit so I didn't have our balloon time together. When I would visit him he would take me to The Henry Ford Museum which had a huge glass blowing studio and exhibit. I was hooked. It was so much like blowing up balloons but instead you had beautiful lasting glass shapes. We would sit there for hours. When I told one of the glass makers I wanted to be a glass blower too he said only men were strong enough.... Blah, Blah, Blah.
Well I consoled myself that as much as liked making beautiful things. I really didn't like the heat and I was terrified of getting burned. But glass making has always had a special place in my heart and I hope you will like this Murano Glass Video.
I am sure you know where this is going... Here are a few samples of Murano Glass Pendant Necklaces for you.
