Do you tell people you aren't creative? Then you need to read this....

I came across this story: "Underwater Masters of Bling"

and had to read it. But before I tell you this enlightened ditty. I need to put it in context. Last week I had a jewelry show in Palm Springs and an astounding number of women came up to me to tell me how much they loved my jewelry (me like) but that they had no creativity (sad!). How does this happen? To my eye life demands creativity. Cook, Throw a Party, Arrange Pillows, Get Dressed! We are not Robots! (yet!)  That's when I saw this story about The Snail. The Deep Sea Carrier Snails to be exact.

Theses snails painstakingly turn their shells into tiny dioramas. The snail will choose a particular object and lift it up, either with its foot or with its proboscis, a tentacle-like appendage that protrudes from the top of its head. Once the snail has its newest decoration in a particular spot on its shoulder, it will cement it to its shell with goo from its mantle. Depending on the species, the snail might also take the time to clean its shell to make it ready for the new addition, or stuff sand and debris underneath it to make sure its sticks properly. There you have it: The Snail Artist!
If you're going to be in Portland, Oregon you can visit  Zymoglyphic Museum  or if you would like to read the full story and see more examples click HERE.

Now back to creativity. I would like to challenge you to be creative. I am offering a free quartz snail motif necklace in the color of your choice, similar to the ones below, to the person that sends me the best example of out of your comfort zone creativity. The skies the limit! Hurry the contest closes 10 days from today!!! Mark your calendars.
In thinking like the snail, I created these quartz motifs. Do you think they look like the picture above?
