Did you know The Duchess of Windsor designed....
In the 1930s, The Duchess thought the Zipper would make an interesting design for a necklace. Her design was called The Zip and became a rage in England. Later in the 1950s, Van Cleef and Arpels made this design with beautiful diamonds, rubies and various precious stones. I was fresh out of diamonds so I chose faux pearls and shells instead!

Did you know the Zipper was invented in 1851 by Elias Howe, founder of the sewing machine? It flopped and was re-engineered 44 years later by Whitcomb Judson of Street Car fame.
