While doing the Crow Pose in Yoga...
This is not me!!! But while attempting this pose, please note the word attempting, our delightful instructor reminded us of our intention for the day which was working through fear. She then told us about her fear as a child. Like so many young girls she was always concerned and fearful about what other people thought of her. She confided this fear to her grandmother. Her grandmother told her it was none of her damn business! I love the simplicity and merit to this advice. This has stuck with her all of her life and it got me thinking about all the sage advice I have gotten from my grandmother and mother.
My Grandmother: When the neighborhood boys refused to play with me she said, "Some day you'll have to carry a big stick!" At 6 I didn't understand the meaning and wondered why I would want to beat them with a stick as they already didn't want to be around me?
My Mother: "Get a good education, don't rely on you looks, make your own money and don't get married!" Sorry about the last one Mom. Made it to 37 though! And, we know how much you love Richard.
Now that I have shared with you, I hope you will take a moment and share some guiding advice with me.
