We're all so excited!

We're all so excited!

We're all so excited!

Just where do I start????

As many of you might know, last year I was blessed to become a Juried Member of the Sonoran Arts League. It is quite an honor. One of my favorite statements by a panel member is, It's difficult to make 'beads' unique but this artist has done just that." I read this whenever I get down on my creativity. Alright Carol Ann, why are you tooting? I along with 35 other very talented artist are opening a Gallery. Yes, it is called The Finer Arts Gallery. Click the Pic below or Here.

The Gallery opens September 1 in Cave Creek and is open from 11:00 to 6:00 Tuesday - Sunday. If you're in the area please stop by and say Hi and also mark your calendars for the Grand Opening on September 18 from 11:00 until 3:30.

So needless to say we are all very excited and we are all scrambling to make sure we have enough inventory for this endeavor while keeping all of our other irons in the fire and this leads me to the topic of the day Bob Ross and his show The Joy of Painting.

I don't know about you but I watched Bob's painting classes for years but I had know idea he did it for 31 years. 13 episodes a season. He created 3 that is THREE images per episode.  One was
an initial reference, one that he painted on TV, and a last, more painstaking version to be included in his books. Over his PBS tenure, Ross crafted some 1,143 original paintings. Can you image? You can read his full story HERE but he never sold a single painting. His philosophy was that anyone can paint and although it will never hang in the Smithsonian you should create a piece that you're proud of and that you will hang on your wall with pride.  I love his selflessness!

After all these years Bob Ross is going to be featured at the Smithsonian! This makes me smile!

Today's working Office in Virginia

Bob passed away in 1995 but I am happy that his artistry is being recognized. At last!

I'm taking a watercolor class at the Sonoran Arts League and in honor of Bob I will show you my first attempt at a landscape. I know it's pitiful but in Bob's honor it's hanging on my wall!

There's no such thing as too much BLING!!!
