When it pays to be alone???

When it pays to be alone???

When it pays to be alone???

With all the turmoil that is going on....

it really is hard to imagine that anyone has any civic pride. But this story just touched me for some odd reason.  The town of Winters, California is a small farming community of about 7000 folks. But in the last few years it has become quite a tourist destination.  People just trying to escape all of the craziness. But with every good thing comes the bad. While the influx of tourist is great for businesses in Winters, the locals were quite upset because they couldn't find parking in their 4 block shopping area. So as an April Fools joke someone installed the one and only parking meter  in town.

Now, it too has become a hot spot. Parent's add money to the meter to show children how it works and Instagram is full of Reels of tourist dancing around the lonely meter.  The money raised by the sole meter goes to the Fireworks Fund! Another example of Necessity is the Mother of Invention.

Thinking about the simpler days of a small town, I was reminded of how proud we folks from Ottawa, Ohio were.  We had three stop lights you see! From now on when I joke that I grew up in a cornfield I must add with 3 stop lights!!!

Ha! Getting Ready for Fall!
